FEATS 2026

A Brief Round-up…

Well, that’s it. We’re done for another year.

FEATS 2026 began in the evening, on Friday the 22nd of May, blazed brightly for 4 days, and extinguished itself in the early hours of the following Tuesday. We saw 28 performances (including the now annual FEATS “skit”), participated in nine tutorials and attended two group workshops. Over a thousand tickets were sold and hundreds of slices of birthday cake were eaten.

Perhaps we should move on to the important stuff - sorry Mr Brigg.

Our adjudicator, Louise Manders, awarded the John Kearey Trophy for Best Production to The Hamburg Players for their performance of Caryl Churchill’s ‘Escaped Alone’. Our runner-up was The Irish Theatre Group who brought us ‘Love in a Glass Jar’ by Nancy Harris. Third place went to Semi-Circle Basel for their rendition of Tom Stoppard’s ‘Another Moon Called Earth’. The Blackie Award for Best Actress went to FEST’s Veronika Ries for her portrayal of Mrs Stephenson, in ‘Sorry, Wrong Number’. Anthony O’Sullivan won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Bone in ‘Another Moon Called Earth’. Best Original Script went to Thomas van Eijl’s ‘Tell Him We Waited’. Lucerne World Theatre Company won The Grand Duchy Award for Best Presentation for ‘Doubles’ by Michael Frayn. The Stage Management trophy was won by The Irish Theatre Group.

What tremendous fun it all was! Let the record show that not a drop of rain fell during the four days. Indeed, the sun blazed away happily and the sky was an uninterrupted blue canvas. Thank you to the crew and staff at Theater Diligentia & Pepijn, who were calm and efficient in the face of medical emergencies, unlocked weaponry and thirsty punters.

On behalf of us all at The AATG, thank you for coming, thank you for sharing your hard work and talent, and good luck with your upcoming plans and projects.

Luxembourg, the baton is yours…

What is FEATS?

FEATS is an annual English-language One-Act play competition staged across 4 days. Amateur teams from across Europe perform short plays (roughly 35-50 minutes long). A Guild of Drama adjudicator is on hand to assess each performance. Ticket holders can also enjoy a non-competitive Fringe program. The festival is located in a different European city each year - The Hague-based theatre association, the AATG, were proud hosts in 2026, and are thrilled to be partnering with Theater Diligentia and Theater PePijn. FEATS 2027 will be hosted by NWTC Luxembourg.
